Abstract The No.13 coal seam in Ciyaogou Coal Mine is an extra-thick coal seam with a thickness of more than 10 m. The fully mechanized caving method is used for mechanized mining. In order to ensure the production efficiency and safe operation of the fully mechanized working face, according to the fully mechanized working face and geological structure, based on the analysis of the matching principle of the“three machines”, the“three machines”parameters of the working face of No.13 coal seam in Ciyaogou Coal Mine are calculated, and the“three machines”are selected according to the calculation results, which provides reference for the fully mechanized caving mining of other extra-thick coal seams.
