Abstract The working face of 10306 was the last long-wall fully mechanized mining face of No. 10-2 coal seam of irregular corner in Ciyaogou Mine. There were withdrawal roadways, auxiliary transport roadway, return detour, return roadway in this face. Aiming at the problem of abandoned roadways, stress concentration, rock burst, the reasonable layout scheme of the working face was studied from aspects of working face design, production system improvement and roof management of empty roadway, and corresponding safety technical measures were formulated to ensure the smooth implementation of the scheme. The practice proved that the roof support of the 10306 working face in Ciyaogou Mine was effective and met the requirements of mine safety production.
