Abstract In order to ensure the stability of surrounding rock of No. 12 coal seam and No. 13 upper coal seam during simultaneous mining in Jinbao Coal Mine, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation were used to analyze the reasonable offset of simultaneous mining. Based on the theoretical analysis, the reasonable offset of simultaneous mining is 25.93 - 31.93 m. According to the numerical simulation results, the reasonable offset of simultaneous mining is 25 - 45 m. Combined with the occurrence of two coal seams, the reasonable offset of simultaneous mining is finally determined to be 45 m. According to the characteristics of the upper and lower working faces, the support scheme of No. 13 upper coal seam mining roadway is designed, and the mine pressure observation and analysis are carried out during the mining of the working face. The results show that the surrounding rock of upper and lower working face is stable under the existing fault distance and support scheme, and the safe mining of working face is realized.
