Abstract Most of the logging data before the early 1990s were simulated logging data, which were preserved in paper form. Limited by storage conditions, data were prone to damage and loss, resulting in irreparable losses. Therefore, the simulated logging curve is scanned and saved. According to the vectorization of the scanned part, the depth of the curve and the numerical tracking and matching of the parameters, the simulated curve is transformed into the data that can be used in the logging database. The logging data processing software is used to process these data, and the digital results map with the same shape, depth, results and more convenient use as the original curve is obtained. It is not only a good preservation and utilization of the previous work results, but also a learning reference material for the new learning. At the same time, the reuse of these data will provide accurate and reliable basis for optimizing the exploration plan.
