Abstract With the heavy and poor quality of coal tar, only mechanical decoking can’t meet the requirements. It must be combined with high-pressure water decoking technology to realize decoking completely. The results show that the application of high pressure water decoking and mechanical decoking technology in delayed coking furnace can realize rapid coke cleaning in the shortest time and achieve the best effect. Compared with mechanical decoking, the cost of high-pressure water decoking and mechanical decoking technology is doubled, and the time is prolonged by 13 ~ 18h, accounting for 52% ~ 72% of the total coke cleaning time.Sewage and coke powder produced during coke cleaning with high-pressure water shall be properly treated to avoid environmental pollution.
