Abstract Due to the influence of geological structure and coal seam thickness variation, the No.4 coal seam of Dashucun Mine of Jizhong Energy Fengfeng Group cannot be fully mined, leaving various forms of coal pillars such as working face boundary, etc. By studying the regional anti-protrusion measures such as pre-pumping through the seam and goaf, the No.2 coal seam was not fully mined to protect the seam, the whole retrieval work was carried out to eliminate the protrusion. During the working face recovery period, the use of the following measures was adopted The results showed that the measure kept the gas concentration in the upper corner at 0.2%~0.3% and the gas concentration in the return wind at 0.3%~0.4%, and tended to be stable, which ensured the safe and efficient mining.
