Abstract Fenxi Zhongxing Coal Industry coal mining face with largest gas gush during the initial mining and initial fall, and uses the U-shaped ventilation was adopted to solve the problem of gas overrun at the working face to ensure normal production at the working face. As the working face advancing, the overhanging roof area of the old roof became larger and larger, and when it reached a certain span, the old roof will suddenly bubble down and press out a large amount of gas, which will easily cause gas overrun and gas accidents. Fenxi Zhongxing Coal 1207 protective seam working face adopted this coal seam down-seam drilling, upper corner buried pipe extraction, high extraction roadway and roof towards high fissure zone directional long drilling extraction technology, which successfully solved the roof management and gas problems during the initial release and achieved better safety benefits.
