Abstract In order to grasp the risk of water breakout in the water-bearing layer at the bottom plate of the 5-102 working face of Fenyuan Coal Industry, according to the geological and hydrological conditions, the water breakout risk area was mainly located in the tectonic area, and the tectonic area detection analysis was carried out by using slot-wave seismic survey + radio pit penetration + transient electromagnetic detection technology, which showed that there was a certain water breakout risk in the abnormal area of transient electromagnetic detection, which was verified by drilling in the abnormal area. It was concluded that the water-richness of the anomalous area was weak and had no influence on the safe recovery of the working face. The evaluation of the risk of water breakout in the bottom aquifer provided a guarantee for the safe recovery of the working face.
