Abstract The transient electromagnetic method is one of the main methods to explore the small coal kiln and ancient kiln mining hollow areas within the mine field, as well as the specific location range and water accumulation in the goaf area. The ground transient electromagnetic survey of small mines and old mines existing within the range of the mining field of Zhengxing Coal Industry was taken as an example, the transient electromagnetic method was adopted to survey occurrence range of goaf.
