Abstract Aiming at the problem of high media consumption in the heavy media system, the the main causes of increased media consumption in the washing process system from the aspects of washing process flow of Wobei Coal Preparation Plant was analyzed, with equipment selection and magnetic media recovery. The technical improvement measures to reduce the media consumption was put forward, through the use of CSS coarse coal slurry separator and the introduction of new type of desliming screen and cyclone, the media consumption was effectively reduced, the stability of the suspension was ensured to achieve the goal of energy saving and consumption reduction, and improve the production efficiency and quality.
