Abstract Surface subsidence monitoring is an important task in coal mining, especially under construction. In order to improve the monitoring density and ensure the data quality, especially under the restricted environmental conditions, the traditional monitoring methods and monitoring means need to be changed. To address these issues, the BeiDou satellite navigation system was introduced to Kailuan Tangshan Mine, and the static observation and post-differential technology was adopted to fully automate the acquisition, transmission, resolution, surface subsidence monitoring data was analyzed. The practice showed that this technology realized the intelligence of surface subsidence monitoring in coal mining and had good application effect.
