| Study on the structure of paraformaldehyde |

Abstract The structure of paraformaldehyde was studied by mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy including one-dimensional MIR spectroscopy, second derivative MIR spectroscopy, fourth derivative MIR spectroscopy and deconvolution MIR spectroscopy. It was found that the main infrared absorption functional groups of paraformaldehyde included ν■, ν■, δ■ and νC-O-paraformaldehyde. It was found that the structure of paraformaldehyde could be identified by MIR spectroscopy. A new methodology has be established for the study of paraformaldehyde structure, which has important application research value.
