Abstract The evolution of the overburden structure and stress field distribution of integrated release mining of deep coal seams at large dip angles was studied, which is of great significance to the correct understanding of the mining pressure characteristics of integrated release mining of coal seams with large dip angles and ensuring the safe and efficient mining. On the basis of the analysis of the evolution law of the overburden damage movement and destruction of the large dip angle face, a three-dimensional numerical calculation model of the deep dip angle coal seam integrated release mining was established, and the influence of the dip angle of the coal seam on the stress distribution of the roof of the mining field was studied. The results showed that the collapse of the top plate of the integrated release of coal seam with large dip angle, going with asymmetry along the tendency direction of the working face, and the movement of the top plate in the middle and upper part of the working face was more severe than that in the lower part; and the larger the dip angle of the coal seam, the greater the possibility of shear damage to the surrounding rocks of the top and bottom plate.
