Abstract Caving and coal release are important factors affecting the recovery rate of the fully mechanized face. By analyzing the influencing factors of the rise-and-discharge nature of Yongdingzhuang Coal Industry 8103 working face, adopting a reasonable way of coal release, it finally came up with multiple rounds of sequential coal release methods. Practice showed that the choice of coal release method was reasonable, which reduced the loss of resources, improved the recovery rate of the working face, and provided the other working faces of the mine, with significant reference.
