Abstract In order to solve the fault problem of the Malan mine substation, the GOOSE technology with three-layer, two-network and regional centralized control center was used to identify the short-circuit fault, leakage fault, overload fault and voltage fault of Malan mine substation, and the GOOSE-based technology was proposed, whose disposal measures and emergency identified substation failures at a faster rate and improved substation operational reliability. The research of the fault identification of the Malan Mine substation laid a foundation for the safe power supply of the mine and improved the mine production efficiency.
