S8303 working face inlet, return air and cutting roadway of Yangquan No. 1 Mine were arranged along the roof, while the working face adopts the large mining height fully mechanized caving process, forming a pan-like bottom shape, resulting in poor support to roof effect and difficult roof management. In order to solve the problems above, two sets of ZY12000-30/68D large mining height transition frame was added to replace the shed beam and the raft support to control roof. The problem of difficult control of the top plate of the working face transition section along the upper floor was solved, which was beneficial to the smooth operation of the equipment, improved the quality of the ending support, and created conditions for safe and efficient production of the working face.
