Abstract In order to solve the problem of side pressure along goaf without the support of dense monomer beside the roadway, a type of mine L type steel column shoe was designed in Jinhui Rongtai Mine, which could effectively improve the anti deformation ability of the surrounding rock of the holistic retaining structure along the goaf, and greatly reduce the roadway refurbishment along the goaf. The cost of the road has also extended the service life of the roadway along the gob, and avoided the large amount of overall failure of the roadway along the goaf with the way of the dense single support, ensuring the safety and reliability of the roof management of the roadway.
