Abstract The composition of coke oven gas and the necessity of desulphurization of coke oven gas were introduced. Several common wet desulphurization technologies were introduced, which are the wet absorption method including vacuum carbonate desulphurization process, AS process and MEA process, and the wet oxidation method including Takahax-Hirohax-( TH ) process, modified A.D.A process, HPF process and FRC process. Several kinds of new methods for desulphurization were prospected, which are super gravity wet oxidation method and the desulphurization methods of tungsten-molybdenum heteropoly compound as catalyst and Fe-based desulphurizer.
