Abstract In order to solve the gas control problem of upper corner and air return in close coal seam recovering mining, recovering mining working face of Wanfeng Mine was taken as example, large diameter long drilling and floor intercepting drilling to drainage close coal seam pressure relief gas, wall chamber controlling gas technology were put forward. The result showed that, the comprehensive gas control technology solved the large air leakage in goaf, the gas content reduced by 0.2%, gas content in upper corner stabilized at 0.5%, without gas overrun in recovering mining.
