Abstract Because of the limitation of resistance of the PE pipe tracer wire line, there is a tendency to pull out in construction, it need to find a tracer line signal and the strength of with bettered and comprehensive properties. The resistance, tensile resistance, signal performances of copper clad steel tracer line, were tested and evaluated. The results show the problem including poor stretching resistance, aging of the outer skin of wire and non-joint of the joint can be solved, so it is worth to widely used in the construction of PE pipeline.
