Abstract In order to solve the problem of low mining rate in integrated mine, this paper took for the Husheng mine in Lu’an group a background. The theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and empirical method were used generally. The original design from two sizes was optimized, including the width of coal pillar and the mining methods .The width of coal pillar changed from 30m into 20m. The slice mining was changed into whole height mining. The mining rate was improved 6.1% after the optimization. The improving of mining rate was significant.
