Gas water prevention played an important role in coal mine safety prevention. Based on features of shallow goaf water in first mining area, supply of hazard rating, current level of exploration and goaf water makes lower coal bed floor granite a confined aquifer. It was unsafe to detect water during heading. Combining with characteristics of goaf water in the first mining area, two schemes of "top water" and "dry" mining were made. Considering security assurance, economic cost and influence to duration, "dry" mining scheme was selected.
