Abstract Based on analysis of roof structure, combined cantilever structure model was built, theoretical analysis method was used to complete quantitative forecast of ground pressure strength and periodic weighting length, it also revealed the essence of periodic weighting law of size of sublevel caving face in carboniferous system C3-5# level. After application of prediction technique, periodic weighting length and pressure were predicted successfully, which eliminated human subjective arbitrariness and increased precision and reliability of forecast.
