Belt conveyance system was the important part in coal production. In order to solve poor reliability and low automaticity of coal belt transporting relay control system, combining with available belt conveyor safety monitoring device technology, PLC programmable logic controller and PROFIBUS-DP communication technology were used to transform this system. As a result, problem of information isolated island of coal belt conveying system was solved, reliability and stability of control system were improved, and meanwhile, automation control and protection of belt conveying were achieved as well.
