Abstract The decolorization effect of reactive blue 19 dye wastewater by using polyaluminum chloride(PAC) as flocculant was studied.Through changing the PAC dosage, pH value, stirring speed and alkalinity, Alb content was measured via Al-Ferron timed spectrophotometric method, the optimum experimental conditions were determined. The results show that the PAC dosage and pH value show the obvious influence on the decolourization ratio, and when the PAC dosage was more than or equal to 500 mg/L and the pH=7, decolorization ratio can reach more than 95%, while stirring speed and alkalinity show fewer influence on decolorization ratio.
