According to job specification and relevant industry standards of GPS global positioning system, GPS was adopted to deformation monitoring in dump slope of Zhuozheng Open-pit Coal Mine in order to guarantee slope safety in the process of technical innovation in Jungar Banner Zhuozheng Open-pit Coal Mine, including monitoring method and confirmation of datum point and observation point, data input and output,etc. The analysis of dump slope stability during the technical renovation to boundary in Zhuozheng Open-pit Coal Mine showed that GPS could satisfy the need of slope deformation monitoring in Zhuozheng Open-pit Coal Mine and provide reference to slope deformation inspection work in future construction and production.
