Abstract With carbon tetrachloride as water-carrying agent, and under the catalytic action of concentrated sulfuric acid, diethyl-L-tartrate was synthesized from tartaric acid and ethanol through the esterification reaction.After the reaction,the obtained diethyl-L-tartrate was purified using the method of first extraction and then distillation with dichloromethane as agent. The yield could reach 96.21%. Compared with the traditional distillation method, the method has the advantages of reducing the energy consumption, improving the production rate.
