Abstract The Steel pipe concrete pier column support gob-side entry retaining roof of gob side was a new support technology. Using the finite element software FLAC3D simulated gob-side entry retaining effect, at the same time set up several observation station to verify the supporting effective and the result of numerical simulation. The results showed the technology for steel pipe concrete pier supported was feasible, although with large floor heave, it can satisfy the use requirements of mining roadway. At the same time, it provided research direction for supporting parameter.
