Abstract The current technologies of gas extraction and utilization were summarized, and some existing problems were analyzed in this paper. During the comprehensive extraction of gas, the combination of different methods is very important, parameters of drill hole and hole sealing technology also should be optimized. Gas extraction of low-permeability coal bed is still a difficulty, which needs more research and input. The demonstration and popularization of low concentrated gas utilization should be accelerated in gas utilization, as well as introducing and studying new technology for ultralow concentrated gas utilization, exploring gas utilization scope to achieve all the aims of coal mine disaster prevention and control, associated resource utilization and ecological environment protection.
