Bottom pressure plate，soft rock bottom, ndentation depth, support selection can directly reflect the resistance strength and type of working face bottom, and is the important basis for support selection. 5201 working face was taken as the example, through bottom pressure equipment made by ourselves, the bottom pressure plate， soft rock bottom，indentation depth, support selection was set 4.1 MPa, the working face bottom was defined as Ⅱ soft bottom category, which laid theoretical basis for 5201 working face mining. combined with bottom and roof cave character and support effect of mines nearby, 5201 working face support type was settled.
